What a season would look like
June-August
SUMMER
Summer practices, camp, fundraising, team bonding, learning the basics, learn all cheers/chants/dances and get to know your teammates and coaches. Mandatory practices begin in August and run about 2 hours a day, 3 or 4 days a week. Plan for all of August to be full with cheer.
September-November
FALL
Football games, practice, volunteer opportunities, fundraising, and Game Day Championships. Fall is many cheerleaders’ favorite season because of the football games we cheer at! We will have practice 3 times a week for 2 hours each and football games on Fridays! Yay for Friday Night Lights (FNL)! In this season we attend one competition and begin gearing up for our competition season!
December-February
WINTER
Basketball games, practice, fundraising, and competition! In the winter months we cheer at basketball games and are in the heart of our competition season. Winter can easily be the most stressful season for athletes and coaches. We will attend 2-3 competitions, which are typically on Saturdays, as well as practice on the usual days and times. If the opportunity is given there is always a chance to go to Nationals at Disneyland as well! When the basketball and competition seasons conclude, so does the cheer season.
March-May
SPRING
Banquet and Tryouts. The spring season is our one off season. It is possible to have a banquet during this season, depending how long basketball goes. We begin the tryout process in the Spring for our next year's team so we are prepared for the following season and so we can get as much fundraising in as possible! After Tryouts the season slowly starts up again!
